Did you miss me?

LOL! I know I'm not here enough for anyone to have noticed, but my paid account expired last week, and I hate dealing with LJ on a basic account with the ads and almost no icons, so I opted to ignore everything LJ related until I could get my account back. So I'm sure I've missed big things in everyone's lives in the last week.

The expansion to WoW came out a week ago, and we've been playing it a lot. Still working through the new goblin zone. But one really good thing to come out of the WoW is that the Orc in my NaNo story has decided that Elf Girl is not telling the story fast enough and has taken it into his big green hands. It turns out he has a little more back story than I'd realized, and he's kind of nervous about telling it to his new mate-to-be, but he will soon. Six pages in two days is certainly not NaNo-worthy, but this story can not be rushed. I'm savoring every scene between these two; I keep on going back in and adding little details and rewording things. Maybe I'm one of those people who needs to keep in touch with my inner-editor.

Hey, I joined DotA. With, like, four characters (so far; I must have a short attention span). It's so nice to have a chat channel where people don't act like crass douchebags. I wish I'd known about this server before I started playing; I could have joined DotH with my blood elves.

I'm glad to read about your story. I was wondering if it was weird of me to come up with relationships and personalities for my family of blood elves. (Older brother's a paladin, sister's a hunter, younger brother's a rogue [in more ways than one], dad's a mage [who spends most of his time picking flowers], mom's a death knight [who as soon as I get past the initial phase I want to just wear normal cloth clothing like she's some totally average citizen...who used to be a death knight]. And then there's the scary warlock cousin.) My worgens are named after OC werewolves from a fanfic I love.

I don't like how long the goblin and worgen opening areas are, and the fact that you can't just bypass them like you can with other races.

Yeah, I have a short attention span with my characters, too. My Worgen is named Tonksadora because I'm a nerd like that. We started our Worgs on the very first day, and there were a lot of Potter names running around Gilneas. I hate how those new areas are heavily phased and strictly linear. Even if you really don't want to do a quest, you have to, or you'll be stuck there forever. The Worg area bad me frustrated nearly to tears.

I am always RPing in my mind when I play. My Blood Elf is a hunter, Hubby plays a mage, and we have two other friends who play paladins. The stuff we're doing now is back story to the fanfic. In my fic, the hunter eventually leaves the company of the gorgeous men in favor of an Orc hunter (also, one of Hubby's alts). It was funny because I'm talking about the Orc all the time, but Hubby questioned when my hunter did the 'flirt' emote to the mage. I told him that in this part of the timeline she's still kind of into him because she hasn't met the other hunter yet. It all makes sense in my brain. I'm fascinated by every aspect of my blood elf. Today, I focused on the ways her eyebrows twitch. That is so going into the next scene in the story.

Hubby agrees with you that the death knights should try to blend in better with regular folk, and he eschews the dark armor. My Draenei DK, on the other hand, has a leather set to wear on the Exodar, but gloried in returning to Outland in the scary outfit and killing the Orcs who were descendants of those who had nearly wiped out her entire race.

I am a hopeless collector of RP clothes. That's a whole post in itself!

Right when I first started playing a worgen, I saw in the chat someone name Reamuss be all like, "Hey, I've been looking for you!" to someone named Padfoot (with an accent over the a). I made one of my main guys a worgen priest and named him after fernwithy's werewolf character who becomes a priest (possibly my favorite OC in a fanfic ever). After I heard the accents the Draenai had, I had to make one called Volger, after an Austrian guy in a great book I just read (first two in a trilogy, actually: Leviathan and Behemoth).

I started playing so I could play with my brother, but he's not on at the same time as me too often, and we never seem to have characters at the same level or in the same location. Although his warlock blood elf and mine look like twins (except mine's a girl). We even had the same robes for a while there. It was sort of cute, in a scary way. I don't really pay too much attention to the lore of the game, actually. I kind of make up in my head what's going on. I'd love for the potential to defect to the other faction, since I'd rather have my blood elves be Alliance.

I love the blood elves because they're the only males who actually look hot. The worgen males look awesome, but not in a hot way, just in an awesome way. The draenai aren't ugly, but the whole beefy thing isn't really my type. It's easy to get attractive females, but most of the males in the game are ugly (especially the night elves and humans; I leave my male worgens in wolf form always). But the blood elves... so many varieties of pretty men.

I imagine my DK coming home after regaining herself and trying to go back to her previous life as a mild-mannered inscriptionist, gathering herbs with her husband and trying to forget about the whole Lich King fiasco.
